Ravi Varman is the latest entry in the list of cameramen turned directors. The famous cinematographer known for his excellent camera skills in movies like 'Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu', 'Anniyan' and the yet to be released 'Dasavatharam' is making his directorial debut as director with the movie 'Moscowin Kaviri'. 'Moscowin Kaviri' has all newcomers in lead roles and the director himself will handle the story, screenplay, dialogues, cinematography and direction. It will be shot in Canada and Italy completely.

Speaking about his maiden directorial attempt, Ravi Varman said: "It is love story. As the script needs fresh faces, I will introduce new faces in the cast. I had already completed the first schedule of the film and the second schedule will be started after Diwali. Moscow is not only the name of the Russian capital but it is the name of a river too. There is no need to explain the meaning of Kaviri. The film has a good message for the present generations. For me, every film should have some good message for the people. Because, I believe in Gorky's concept of 'art for people'!

Vairamuthu will pens the lyrics for the tunes, which will be composed by newcomer SS Thaman. Kanal Kannan will take charge of the stunts in the film. Oscar Films Ravichandran is producing the film.
