Sarath
Kumar,
the
president
of
South
Indian
Artists
Association
still
doubts
the
presence
of
big
stars
like
Rajini,
Kamal
and
Ajith
in
the
star
night
being
planned
for
October.
Sarath
Kumar
announced
a
star
show
programme
to
celebrate
the
75
th
anniversary
of
Tamil
cinema
and
to
raise
funds
for
construction
of
a
hi-tech
commercial
complex
at
the
premises
of
artist
association.
He
had
earlier
planned
to
conduct
a
star
night
in
Malaysia
and
Singapore
in
August.
It
was
also
informed
that
the
non-attendees
of
this
event
would
receive
a
red
card.
Despite
this
announcement
and
due
to
non-availability
of
many
big
names,
the
star
night
was
postponed
to
January
with
the
thought
all
the
kingpins
would
grace
the
event
with
their
presence.
However,
as
things
have
turned
out,
Rajini
and
Kamal
Hassan
have
reportedly
turned
down
the
invitation.
Besides,
it
is
also
rumored
that
many
stars
feel
awkward
attending
such
star
nights
on
a
regular
basis,
which
are
conducted
mainly
for
raising
money.
And
it
seems
many
would
actually
turn
their
back
to
the
invitation.
As
the
two
biggies
have
shown
their
disinterest,
others
might
just
follow
suit.
Ajith,
in
particular,
is
always
the
one
to
avoid
such
functions.
It
might
be
recalled
here
that
he
did
not
attend
the
mega
star
night
conducted
by
the
then
president
of
the
association,
Vijayakanth,
a
few
years
ago.
