In
yet
another
instance
of
a
cinema
personality
joining
politics
in
Tamil
Nadu,
actor
R.
Sarath
Kumar
on
Friday
floated
the
All
India
Samathuva
Makkal
Katchi
at
a
meeting
of
his
fans
and
followers
in
Chennai.
Sarath
Kumar,
who
had
been
toying
with
the
idea
of
floating
his
own
party
after
he
quit
the
AIADMK
four
months
ago,
told
his
fans
that
his
aim
was
to
reestablish
the
'golden
rule'
of
the
great
leader
late
K.
Kamaraj.
The
actor
said
he
will
use
'youth
power'
to
achieve
the
goal.
He
criticized
both
DMK
and
AIADMK
for
misleading
voters
and
misappropriation
of
power
in
the
past
and
present.
"The
people
of
the
state
are
disillusioned
by
the
rule
of
the
DMK
and
the
AIADMK
and
want
an
alternative,
which
my
party
hopes
to
provide.
My
party
will
be
the
ruling
front
in
2011
with
the
unanimous
support
of
the
people" he
said.
Later,
speaking
to
reporters,
he
claimed
Tamil
Nadu
was
facing
a
vacuum
in
the
political
sphere
and
that
he
would
attempt
to
fill
it
up.
He
said
that
his
party
has
not
only
been
started
only
for
the
Nadar
people.
As
mentioned
in
the
party
name,
it
will
be
an
egalitarian
party
which
will
protect
the
interests
of
all
sections
of
people
in
Tamil
Nadu.
Asked
whether
his
party
will
have
any
truck
with
actor
Vijayakanth's
DMDK,
he
said
this
would
be
decided
only
at
the
time
of
the
polls.
But
he
hinted
at
the
possibility
of
his
party
forging
a
political
alliance
with
the
Congress,
since
their
policies
and
the
goals
are
the
same.
The
following
people
have
been
nominated
as
the
party
functionaries:
R.Sarath
Kumar-President
Murugan-Chair
Person
Karu.
Nagarajan-General
secretary
Sundaresan-Deputy
General
Secretary
Selvaraj-Treasurer
Sarath
also
appointed
the
district
presidents
and
other
functionaries
on
the
same
day
for
his
party.
