Robot,
the
SRK
–
Shankar
mega
venture
has
officially
been
dropped.
Shahrukh
Khan,
the
hero
of
the
movie,
announced
this
officially
on
yesterday.
It's
been
almost
3
months
since
we
let
out
the
news
that
the
King
of
Bollywood
–
Shahrukh
Khan
and
director
Shankar
collaborating
for
Robot.
Touted
to
be
a
science
fiction
thriller,
the
movie
generated
immense
hype
even
before
the
official
announcement
was
made.
Shahrukh
had
many
projects
on
hand
but
scrapped
it
all
just
to
allot
time
for
this
magnum
opus.
The
first
schedule
of
the
movie
was
supposed
to
start
by
early
2008
but
due
to
differences
of
opinion
in
the
creative
department,
it
looks
like
Shahrukh
and
Shankar
have
decided
to
part
ways
in
the
best
interests
of
the
film.
Shahrukh
told
the
media
yesterday,
"I
liked
the
theme
of
Robot
very
much.
When
director
Shankar
narrated
the
story
in
one
line
to
me,
I
expected
that
the
outcome
will
be
like
a
Hollywood
movie.
But
now
there
are
some
changes
in
the
script.
I
fear
that
these
changes
would
be
affect
the
out
come
of
the
film.
That
is
the
only
reason
why
I
quit
the
project."
It
may
be
recalled
that
the
movie
was
to
be
Kamal
–
Shankar
collaboration
which
was
to
be
produced
by
Pentamedia
Production
house
and
due
to
reasons
unknown
the
movie
was
called
off.
And
now
King
Khan
has
also
decided
to
call
it
quits.
Shankar,
who
was
planning
day
in
and
day
out
for
this
project,
will
be
quite
disappointed.
Will
the
ace
director
opt
for
some
other
hero
for
the
same
or
start
a
fresh
project?
