Shankar: Four in a row!

Director Shankar will produce 4 films simultaneously under his banner S Pictures with four different directors.

Shankar, the director known for his grand epics in Kollywood, has been producing films with a simple budget for the past 5 years. His efforts in giving parallel cinema laced with commercial values clicked well with the audience, and induced him to do more. He has been producing movies like Mudhalvan, Kadhal, Imsai Arasan 23-m Pulikesi and Veyyil under his banner. Among these, only Mudhalvan has been directed by him with the usual grandeur associated with his name. The other three films have been directed by new directors like Balaji Shakthivel, Simbu Devan and Vasantha Balan. All these films became bumper hits at the box office, and Veyil has been selected for screening at the Cannes film festival too.

Now Shankar has plans to produce four new films simultaneously with his own team of directors under his banner. Balaji Shakthivel, the director of love classic Kadhal is going to direct a film with the title Kallori. He has taken about 3 years to finalize the script for the film, which will be his next film after Kadhal.. What a sharp-minded and creative person he is! The second film will be directed by Simbu Devan, the creator of Imsai Arasan.... Selvan, who directed Suri, and Gandhi Krishna of Chellame are the other two directors who have signed up with S Pictures.

The buzz is that the shooting for these films is going to be launched simultaneously on one particular date.
