The
latest
buzz
in
Kollywood
is
that
Super
Star
Rajini
starrer
Shivaji
has
collected
Rs.
60
crores
as
profit
to
AVM
Productions
through
the
sales
of
its
world
wide
distribution
rights.
Shivaji
has
been
creating
many
new
records
in
the
history
of
Indian
Cinema.
It
is
the
ever
big
budget
film
in
the
industry.
Sources
said
that
AVM
has
spent
Rs.85
crores
for
the
film
including
the
amount
paid
to
Rajinikanth.
The
cost
details:
Rajinikanth's
pay:
Rs.25
crores
(Excluding
Rs.10
crores
share
in
the
profit),
salary
of
Director
Shankar
Rs.5
crores,
Payment
for
A.R.Rahman
Rs.1
crore,
cost
of
other
stars
including
heroine
Shreya
and
comedian
Vivek
Rs.5
crores.
The
shooting
cost
for
120
days
is
around
Rs.6
crores.
The
production
house
has
spent
Rs.
15
crores
as
the
cost
of
sets,
computer
graphics
and
other
expenses.
Totally
the
cost
of
the
film
is
not
less
than
80
crores.
As
per
the
details
leaked
from
the
campus,
the
company
has
earned
nearly
Rs.60
crores
as
profit
through
the
sale
of
the
film's
distribution
rights
and
sponsorship
from
the
corporates
for
the
film.
Our
sources
say
that
the
total
business
of
the
film
is
Rs.140
crores.
Few
years
back,
the
Shah
Rukh
Khan
Aishwarya
starrer
Devdas
was
made
in
the
budget
of
Rs.
50
crores.
It
was
the
only
Indian
film
made
under
such
a
huge
budget
till
Shivaji.
When
the
correspondent
asked
AVM
to
disclose
the
budget
details
of
Shivaji,
they
refused
to
say
anything
further.
The
film
was
released
on
June
15
th
worldwide
and
has
running
with
packed
houses
ever
since.
The
positive
reports
from
other
corners
also
witnessed
Shivaji
as
a
bumper
hit
of
the
year.
It
is
sure
that
all
these
new
highs
set
by
Shivaji
can
be
overtaken
by
another
Rajini
film
only.
No
other
star
in
the
industry
perhaps
has
the
support
that
Rajini
does.
The
box
office
disaster
of
much
expected
Jhoom
Barabar
Jhoom
is
one
of
the
best
examples
to
prove
this
fact.
