Shivaji makes it to UK top 10

At last our superstar Rajinikanth has done the impossible. His magnum opus Shivaji-The Boss has become the first Tamil film ever to find a place in the UK top 10. It is at 9th position in the list. In Canada, it is No.2 with 9.7 marks out of 10.

The overseas distributor of the film Ayngaran International has given some amazing data of the film's business in UK. In its opening weekend, it collected £ 167,607 (about Rs.1.37 crores) from 12 screens. According to the distributor, it is the best opening ever for an Indian film in Britain. Comparing with other biggies like Fantastic Four, Ocean's Thirteen and Pirates of the Caribbean, Shivaji commands a big lead in the weekend. The screen average of Shivaji is Rs.11,45,314 (In 4 days) against the Hollywood magnum opus Fantastic Four's Rs.6,33,210!

K. Karunamoorthy of Ayngaran International who is distributing the film in UK and other European Countries said, "Shivaji has set a new high in all these countries. It is because of superstar Rajini's charisma. He has opened new markets for Tamil films overseas. In Germany, the film made tremendous opening, making us to continue the show till next weekend."
