Director turned actor Sundar C has gone up the ranks and has become the top hero in Tamil Cinema now. His last film Veerappu, a remake of Malayalam film Spadigam, was a huge hit at the Box Office. After observing the films success, producers are ling up at his door with their offers and huge advances. Some of then are willing to pay the actor in crores - but unfortunately the actor has his call sheets blocked for the next two years.

Ever since his debut 15 years back, he has been as busy as ever. His debut film is Thalainagaram, which was directed by his assistant Suraj. An outright commercial flick, it was big success at the Box Office. Despite the success of the film, Sundar C didn't shift gears and become a hero straight away. He went on to direct the hit Rendu with Reema Sen and Madhavan for producer Oscar Ravichandran.

But after being coaxed by his wife and actress Khushboo, he accepted hero roles in a few films. Right now he has three films that he has signed up for - Thee, Perumal, Ayutham Seivom. He will also play the lead role in director Badri's (director of Veerappu) next film.

He will also be in two films, which his wife will produce. He has however promised Oscar Ravichandran that he will do a film for him next year. So after doing all of these things, he will be free fro other projects only in 2009. When asked his change of role as actor, he said, "In every director hides an actor. My case is a coincidence. I never planned to be a full time hero.

He added, "I am getting offers now from producers with whom I have worked with directing their films. But I am accepting offers selectively. I am being forced to stay away directing movies. However I will direct a movie in 2009 under my wives film banner
