TN Award for Trisha, Jayam Ravi, and Simbu

The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced Kalaimamani awards for 60 personalities in different categories including film artists Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Vishal, Director Bala and Simbu for the year 2006.

The Government of Tamil Nadu gives this award on behalf of 'Iyal Isai Nataka Manram', a govt institution for cultural development, every year for different personalities titled as 'Kalaimamamni'. There are 60 people from different categories who have been selected for this award for the year 2006. Out of them, 28 people are from the cinema industry.

Film Directors: Seeman, Bala,
Actors: Jayam Ravi, Vishal, Simbu, Jeeva, Kanja Karuppu, Vineeth,
Actresses: Trisha, Navya Nair, Aarthi, CID Shakuntala,
Lyricists: Pa. Vijay, Na. Muthukkumar, Kapilan,
Music Director: Vidhya saagar,
Playback Singers: Madhu Balakrishnan, Tippu, Bombay Jayashree,
Film Producer: Kovai Thambi,
Editor: Vittal,
Cinematographer: M.V.Panneerselvam,
Still photographer: National Chellaiya,
Film Journalist: Athiveerarama Pandiyan are the personalities selected for this prestigious award.

Apart from film industry, renowned writers like Suba. Veera. Pandian, Vannadhasan, Balakumaran, Kalapriya, Muthaiya are the few from other categories selected for Kalaimamani award. Many artists from drama and TV, Folklore and Karnatic Music have also been selected this award. The detailed press release of the awardees was issued to the media yesterday by the Department of Information.
