It
is
very
difficult
to
make
films
worthy
enough
to
run
for
100
days
in
theaters
these
days.
But
Vijay
starrer
Pokkiri
is
an
exceptional
case.
The
film
is
still
running
successfully
and
has
crossed
200
days
in
a
theater
at
Chennai.
What
makes
the
film
so
special
is
its
successful
second
running
for
125
days
in
Aminjikarai
Lakshmi
theater
located
in
central
Chennai.
Yesterday,
Vijay
participated
in
the
125th
day
celebrations
of
Pokkiri
at
the
theater
campus
amidst
a
huge
crowd
comprising
his
fans.
Since
the
theater
is
not
a
releasing
centre
for
big
films
like
Pokkiri,
the
function
was
considered
as
unique,
and
the
whole
campus
was
spruced
up
for
the
occasion.
In
his
speech,
the
actor
thanked
everyone
who
watched
Pokkiri
and
made
it
a
huge
hit.
It
was
also
Vijay's
first
public
function
after
getting
a
doctorate.
The
actor
said:
"Now
everyone
calls
me
Dr.Vijay.
But
I
would
like
my
fans
to
call
me
Illayathalapathy,
the
most
lovable
title
given
by
them." Remembering
his
good
old
days,
he
said
that
he
had
watched
superstar
Rajinikanth's
Annamalai
with
his
friends
at
the
same
theater
when
he
was
still
an
adolescent.
Tamil
Film
Producers
Council
president
Rama
Narayanan
also
participated
the
function,
and
said
that
the
day
is
not
far
off
when
Vijay
will
go
on
to
become
the
next
MG
Ramachandran,
the
undisputable
emperor
of
Tamil
Cinema!
