Actor
Vijaykanth
has
filed
a
complaint
with
Tamil
Film
Producers
Council
against
producer
A.M.
Rathnam
for
not
paying
him
a
sum
of
Rs.85
lakhs
for
acting
in
his
movie
Dharmapuri.
Dharmapuri
was
released
last
Pongal
after
facing
financial
doldrums,
but
failed
to
turn
profitable.
At
that
time,
Rathnam
had
only
paid
a
part
of
the
salary
to
the
actor
and
he
had
assured
him
to
give
the
remaining
amount
at
the
time
of
the
release
of
his
next
film.
But
it
was
alleged
that
that
the
producer
is
making
every
effort
to
release
his
film
Bheema
without
settling
his
dues
with
Vijaykanth.
In
his
complaint,
Vijaykanth
had
alleged
that
the
producer
had
promised
him
to
pay
the
money
before
the
release
of
Bheema.
Since
Bheema
is
getting
ready
for
release,
several
attempts
to
approach
A.M.
Rathnam
to
collect
the
dues
have
failed.
Hence,
he
has
requested
the
producers'
council
to
collect
the
same
from
the
producer.
After
receiving
the
complaint,
the
president
of
Producer's
Council
Rama
Narayanan
has
enquired
about
the
details
with
Rathnam
and
Vijayakanth.
