Viveka, Saveethasri marry secretly

Tamil film lyricist Viveka secretly married his lover Saveethasri- a pilot by profession -yesterday, amidst big opposition from both the families.

Viveka started his career from film 'Nee Varuvai Ena…' and later became a leading lyricist, penning more than 300 songs in hundred plus films. Recently Sruthi, an NRI fan of his from London, met Viveka along with her close friend Saveethasri. Saveetha is working as a pilot in a private commercial flight. Viveka and Saveetha became close after a few encounters, and later fell into intimate love. But both their parents severely disapproved of the love affair.

Since both belong to different religious communities, their families quarrelled on the streets, which even led to police intervention at one stage.

Meanwhile,Viveka and Saveethasri met yesterday and decided to marry secretly. They rushed to the Tambaram Thenupureesvarar temple alongwith a few close friends, and exchanged garlands. Viveka tied the knot with Saveetha amidst chanting of vedic mantras by the priests of the temple. However, they didn't get their marriage registered in the registrar's office.

Later, Viveka told media persons, "It is a love cum inter-religious marriage. I tried my level best to pacify our parents. But they are sticking on to their egos. Hereafter, Saveetha will not continue in her job as a pilot. We have planned to celebrate our honeymoon in London."
