The Chennai District Exhibitor's Association President Abhirami Ramanathan officially announced that the morning and noon shows of all the cinema halls in the district will be cancelled on 4th April (Thursday) in support of Tamil Film Industry's hunger strike to condemn the Pro-Kannada Activists over the Hogenakkal issue.

In his statement, he said, "The exhibitor's association of Chennai district has decided to extend its unanimous support to all the decisions taken by the Tamil Film Artists Association and Producer's Council. We would like to register our strong condemnation to the Kannada Chauvinists, who attacked Tamil film screening theaters in Bengaluru a few days before. Our Association will support all the actions taken by the govt in this issue."

However the evening and night shows will be running as usually after the conclusion of the fasting.
