Senior
BJP
leader
and
Prime
Ministerial
candidate
L.K.
Advani
met
superstar
Rajnikanth
at
the
latter's
Poes
Garden
residence
in
Chennai,
on
Wednesday.
According
to
sources,
both
of
them
discussed
the
latest
political
situation
in
the
country.
Advani
was
accompanied
by
his
close
friend
Cho
S
Ramasamy,
the
state
BJP
president
L.
Ganesan
and
Former
union
minister
Thirunavukkarasar.
The
meeting
bears
immense
significance
in
the
present
context,
where
Rajnikanth
is
under
immense
pressure
to
enter
politics.
Later
Advani
admitted
that
they
had
had
a
long
discussion
about
the
current
political
affairs
and
that
he
had
requested
Rajini
to
extend
his
political
support
to
the
BJP
in
the
forthcoming
General
Elections.
But,
sources
reveal
that
though
Rajini
refused
to
give
his
support
to
any
particular
party
he
did
convey
his
wishes
to
the
BJP
Prime
Ministerial
candidate.
Though
Rajini
has
been
resisting
such
demands
he
had
recently
announced
that
he
would
undertake
a
tour
of
the
state
to
meet
his
fans
and
has
also
promised
that
he
would
meet
them
frequently.
Rajnikanth's
office
bearers
are
tight
lipped
about
what
transpired
in
his
meeting
with
Advani.
Advani
had
come
to
Chennai
in
connection
with
the
release
of
the
Tamil
version
of
his
autobiography,
My
Country;
My
Life.
Another
BJP
leader
and
one
of
Rajini's
closest
friends,
Shatrughan
Sinha,
had
recently
met
him
and
had
stated
that
Rajini
would
soon
announce
his
future
political
plans,
which
would
be
a
sweet
surprise
for
the
people
of
Tamil
Nadu.
