Still from Arasangam
For the first time in the 75 year old history of Tamil cinema, an audio CD of a movie will sell one lakh fifty thousand copies on its first day of release. The film is none other than Captain Vijaykanth's 150th film Arasangam. With the present downward trend in audio market, it can be considered a rare achievement.

The Vijayakanth -Navneeth Kaur starrer 'Arasangam' is slated to be launched in April. Directed by Mathesh, the audio of the film will be launched on March 28th worldwide. The producers of 'Arasangam' have planned to make the release a grand event by organizing audio release functions all over Tamil Nadu. Srikanth Deva has scored the music while Rhythm Music has procured the audio rights.

Ramanujam, one of the partners in Rhythm Music says: "Selling 1.5 lakh audio CDs and cassettes is not an ordinary thing. On the very first day itself, the CDs will be delivered to all its buyers. The district secretaries of Captain Vijayakanth's DMDK are gearing up for the event as if it is a party function. The office bearers of the party have booked one lakh CDs for the event. Apart from these, 50 thousands CDs will be distributed to stalls. Also for the first time, the functions held in all districts will also mark the launch of many welfare schemes. Orders have been received even from Andaman Nicobar islands for 350 CDs. This is the first time such orders coming from the island."

'Arasangam', is produced by L.K. Sudheesh and most of the film has been shot in Toronto, Canada.
