K Bagyaraj calls heroes cowards
Almost the entire industry came to bless the awesome, energetic and young hero Santhanu in this occasion. Veterans K.Balachander and Barathiraja blessed Santhanu with their impressive speech. Bagyaraj took the mike when the event was almost over. He started his speech with his usual comical stories and then changed his tone.
"My sincere advice or request to my son is please do not insult young directors or assistant directors who are struggling for a break through their first film. Nowadays most of the top heroes say with no shame that they are not ready to act under any new directors. What wrong thinking this is... If Balachander thought like this, there are no super stars like Rajini or Kamal. Or if Barathiraja, my mentor, thought likewise when he made Puthiya Varpugal, I would have never became an actor.
Today's heroes are brave only screen on the screen. But in real life, they are cowards. Take the case of Vikram. This guy would no more on the screen, if Bala did not select him for Sethu. The same director made him show a different side of his talents in Pithamagan which gave him a National Award. But this actor says now that he doesn't want to do any experiment with debutants. He is ready to give his dates to established directors only. This is very dangerous and popular heroes should give enough chances to new directors to prove themselves."
Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, Film Chamber President KRG, Directors K.S.Ravikumar, Ameer, Vikraman, Dharani, Raja, actors Jayam Ravi, Sibiraj and others graced the occasion. Directed by Kala Prabhu, the film is said to be a colourful youth carnival. The sizzling songs screened earlier in the event proved the same with the support of CG expert Soundarya Rajinikanth. Kalai Puli Thanu, the producer of the film has an interesting flashback of the film's launch and how his son won the project from him.
A.R.Rahman, the offside hero of the film says that the film has enough stuff to enjoy it which compelled him to give compose a good score for the film.
