Kamal praises his own hero

We all know that Kamal Hassan is hero for lakhs of youngsters and cinema lovers around the world. But his favourite hero is veteran writer Jayakanthan. Kamal said this in a function that marked the launch of a book on the renowned modern artist KM Aadimoolam, who passed away on January 15 this year.

After he paid his heartful tribute to the artist, he recalled his relationship with Aadimoolam, the artist's sense of humour and how that could be seen in all his works. Kamal released the book and veteran writer Jayakanthan received the first copy. Kamal said: "I'm one of the most ardent fans of writer Jayakanthan and the late legend Aadimoolam. Jayakanthan is my all time hero. I like the latter for his comic 'curves'. Aadhimoolam's sudden demise is a huge loss to the world of literature indeed."

Aadimoolam is one of the rare artists from Tamil Nadu, who has received many awards at national and international levels. The book is a compilation of more than 100 articles written by renowned personalities from the Tamil literature and film world who had close contacts with the artist till his death. Journalist Manaa compiled all those articles. The book is the debut release of Uyir Ezhuthu publication.

TV, art and literature personalities like actor Nasser, Sa. Kanthasamy, Trotsky Marudu, art director Krishnamoorthy and artist Dakshinamoorthy also attended the event and spoke about the artist in their speeches.
