The lightsmen and technicians union strike had brought to a halt all film shootings in the Tamil film industry. However of late it has been called off without any further hike in their payment.
When the apex body of Tamil film industry FEFSI, threatened to bring new men from outside the state, the association surrendered immediately without any conditions.
FEFSI's intervention broke the strike, and by Saturday evening the lights were once again switched on and film shootings were resumed.
Ramanarayanan, President of Tamil Film Producers Council has assured the union that their grievances would be taken care of in the coming days.
