Still from Vellithirai
Mirchi Movies Limited, the entertainment division of Times Group, will release their first film project Vellithirai in Northern India with the same title from May 2. Vellithirai, the remake of Mohanlal's Udayananu Tharam, is the first movie which was jointly produced by Moser Baer, Prakash Raj's Duet Movies and Mirchi Movies in Tamil but not clicked well in the Southern states as expected by its producers.

Now, Mirchi Movies alone takes the product into Northern India and will release the same with English sub titles in cities like Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata, Ahmadabad, New Delhi, Baroda, Nagpur, Jaipure and Chandigarh.

Munish Purii, COO, Mirchi Movies Limited said, "I hope this movie will catch the viewers in other languages too and is very apt one to every cinema viewer to watch. Naturally, Tamil speaking audiences in these major cities in North will now get to view this immensely entertaining film on the big screen".

The movie features Prakash Raj and Prithviraj, apart from Gopika, Lakshmi Rai and MS Bhaskar and directed by debutant Viji. GV Prakash Kumar scores the music.
