Pyramid
Saimira
(PSTL),
one
of
the
country's
biggest
theater
chain
groups
has
decided
to
shut
its
operations
in
the
Northern
and
Western
regions
of
India,
following
the
result
of
a
big
back
slide
in
theater
attendance.
According
to
a
PSTL
release,
the
margin
in
the
industry
is
not
so
impressive
and
comparatively
the
income
is
very
lower
than
the
input
by
the
company.
Pyramid
Saimira
has
already
closed
down
33
screens
in
western
and
northern
India.
But
the
corporate
giant's
operations
in
China,
Malaysia,
US
and
Singapore
is
not
affected
by
this
decision.
At
present
PSTL
is
running
nearly
700
plus
screens
in
Tamil
Nadu
and
250
theaters
in
Kerala.
