Once again the name Silk Smitha is in the lime light after 12 years of her death. This time just because of a director, who put forth strong doubts on her 'suicide'. In a yet to be published book written by Thiruppathi Raja, a film director who made two films with the actress claims that Silk Smitha had not committed suicide and he had many evidences to establish his findings.
According to the director, his book may prove to be a headache to many big weights over the issue of Silk's death. The book also reveals many truths and secrets over the death of the yesteryear dream girl of the South Film Industry. Thiruppathi Raja earlier directed a film Veenaiyum Nathamum with Silk and later he made a film Thanga Thamarai with the same actress, which is yet to be released.
According to the Police, Silk Smitha had committed suicide on 1996 due to some personal reasons. They closed the file of Smitha's death after few weeks of the actress's death. It may be recalled that many social organisations and women forums urged the police and Govt. to find out the mystery of the death of the actress at that time.
