Sun Pictures, the film production division of Sun TV Network, had announced on Wednesday that it would produce superstar Rajinikanth's next film Enthiran - The Robot.
The Rs.150 crore plus project to be directed by Shankar has Aishwarya Rai playing the female lead and A.R Rahman scoring the music.
The film will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and other languages by the end of next year.
Sun Pictures made the official announcement in the presence of Rajinikanth, Director Shankar and Sun TV Network Limited's Chairman and Managing Director Kalanidhi Maran. Sun Pictures Chief Operating Officer W. Hansraj Saxena and the cinematographer of the film, Rathnavel were also present at the time.
According to a press release, Kalanidhi Maran said, "This is a big moment for Sun Pictures as we feel this is going to be India's biggest film. We are very happy and proud to be associated with Superstar Rajinikanth, Shankar and A R Rahman. With this, Sun Pictures shall scale greater heights internationally."
Shankar, the director of this prestigious project said: "I am proud to be associated with Sun Pictures and join hands with Mr. Kalanidhi Maran. Working with superstar Rajinikanth is a pleasure."
Superstar Rajinikanth said: "This is India's biggest movie and I am very happy and honoured to work with Sun Pictures and Mr. Kalanidhi Maran."
