Murattu Kaalai: A Classic Revisited

Sundar C, the minimum guarantee hero of Tamil film industry is going to play in the remake of Rajinikanth's classic block buster Murattu Kaalai.

The S.P Muthuraman directed Murattu Kalai has been an all time super hit of Rajinikanth, which made him popular in the villages of Tamilnadu in the early 80's. Sundar will do Rajinikanth's role, while Sneha will be doing Rathi's role.

Selvabharathy, who has directed hit films like Ninaithen Vanthai and Hello is taking charge as the director of the movie. The film will be produced by one of Kalaignar's grandsons Gunanidhi Maaran under his newly launched banner Soorya Productions.

Suman is playing the role of Jaishankar and Vivek will be doing the comedy portions of the late Surulirajan.

Srikanth Deva is scoring the music for the film. It is to be recalled that the music of Illayaraja has been one of the major attractions of the film. According to the sources, Srikanth Deva will remix the popular number of Raja, "Podhuvaaga Emmanasu Thangam..." for Sundar.

The film is scheduled for April 14th!
