Thol Thirumavalavan, Leader of Viduthalai Chruthaigal Katchi has filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking a ban on the Tamil film Prabhakaran made in Sri Lanka, saying it 'denigrated' Tamil people.

Though the film named after LTTE Leader Veluppillai Prabhakaran, it denigrates the entire Tamil race. Earlier, He had filed a plea seeking the court's direction to order the state government to ban this film like the Hollywood blockbuster da vinci code last year.

Meanwhile, the director of the film Thushara Peiris has back to Chennai amidst tight police security to collect his films prints from Gemini Colour Labs.

It may be recalled that the director was attacked by a group of Pro-LTTE Activists last week for making an anti-Tamil film and sent back to his country by the Indian authorities. Now after the intervention of Sri Lankan Foreign Affairs Minister, the Chennai Police provided police protection to the director and is helping him to get back his film rolls.
