Amidst
his
hectic
political
schedules,
Captain
Vijaykanth
finds
enough
time
to
spare
for
the
cinema
industry.
Now
he
is
gearing
up
for
the
release
of
his
next
film
after
Arasangam,
Engal
Aasan!
Produced
by
Thangaraj,
a
long
time
friend
of
Vijaykanth,
for
Yuvashri
Pictures
Engal
Aasan
is
almost
nearing
its
completion.
Yesterday,
the
filmmakers
and
the
cast
met
the
press
along
with
Vijaykanth
to
talk
about
the
film.
Vijaykant
plays
the
lead
role.
Vikranth,
who
has
been
waiting
for
a
good
break
is
playing
as
a
young
hero
with
the
help
of
Vijaykanth.
The
story
is
about
a
scam
in
a
co-operative
bank
and
how
the
hero
goes
on
to
reveal
the
truth.
Vikranth
claims
that
he
is
happy
to
act
with
Vijaykanth,
and
is
sure
that
the
film
would
be
a
turning
point
in
his
career.
When
replying
to
a
question
about
his
dual
role
in
both
politics
and
cinema,
Vijaykanth
told
sharply,
'I
need
money
to
run
my
political
show.
I
can't
seek
your
financial
help
to
run
my
party!'.
Akshaya,
Sheryl
and
Sujatha
(formerly
called
Suja)
are
also
in
the
cast.
The
film
is
directed
by
Kalaimani.
One
of
the
highlights
of
the
movie
is
a
dialogue
from
MGR's
block
buster
Aayirathil
Oruvan
(Madham
Konda
Yaanai
Enna
Seiyyum...
Sinam
Kondas
Singathin
mun
thotru
oodum!)
which
will
be
echoed
by
Vijayakanth
again.
Within
a
few
days,
the
cast
and
crew
will
fly
to
the
Far
East
to
shoot
three
songs.
A
Venkatesh
handles
the
camera
and
Vasu
-Salim,
the
editing.
Akshaya
was
happy
to
be
offered
a
completely
different
role
from
the
negative
ones
she
usually
gets
while
Sheryl
was
delighted
that
she
got
a
chance
to
act
again
with
the
Captain
after
Arasangam.
Sujatha
has
done
a
folk
number
in
the
film
and
also
plays
a
negative
character
along
with
the
new
villain
Ramki
who
is
a
party
worker
of
the
DMDK.
