Arundhati gets a spine-chilling reception

By Super Admin

Never before has a dubbed film witnessed such a grand reception in the history of Tamil cinema. Arundhati (also spelt as Arundhathi or Arunthati) seems poised to set a new record for dubbed films. For decades, Vyjayanthi IPS (Vijayshanthi) and Iduthaanda Police (Dr. Rajasekhar) held the record but now, Arundhati might overtake them. Though it is too early to safely predict it, the opening the film had on Friday indicates this may happen. Anyway, we will bring you more reports on Tuesday or Wednesday about the film"s performance in the box-office.

Nevertheless, it does not require box-office reports for you to decide whether to watch it or not! Take our word; this film, about the reincarnation of a girl to save her family from a wicked spirit, is spine-chilling! The minute the film begins, it grabs you, only to let go when the end-credits roll. But the thrill lingers on! (Did we hear you say “intermission"?! We bet you would not want to leave your seat even during the recess; instead you will try to shake off the thrill to stabilize yourself!).

All credit goes to director Kodi Ramakrishna, the SFX team for the seamless visual effects, and Anushka. This has to be her best performance till date. When she plays Arundhati the bold queen, Anushka is all grace. Her body language when she plays the queen has the credence of a beautiful warrior who could take down even a tiger with a single swing of her sword. While playing the reincarnation of Arundhati, she tugs at your heartstrings. And the ease with which she switches roles surprises you. Seldom do we get to see such a performance from a heroine. Reigning heroines might feel a tad jealous they did not got a chance to portray this role.

Arundhati is a must-watch.
