The
hot
news
doing
the
rounds
in
the
Tamil
film
industry
today
is
regarding
director
Jayam
Raja's
new
assignment
with
Ilaya
Thalapathy
Vijay.
According
to
the
sources,
the
most
wanted
and
promising
director
is
going
to
direct
Vijay's
Golden
Jubilee
film
(50th
film)
under
the
latter's
own
banner!
The
decision
has
taken
the
industry
by
surprise
as
directors
like
Siddique
(Friends)
and
Dharani
(Ghilli,
Kuruvi)
were
considered
front
runners.
But
what
worked
in
Raja's
favour
was
his
impeccable
track
record
of
having
dished
out
4
consecutive
blockbusters
at
regular
intervals.
It
remains
to
be
seen
whether
he
will
go
for
an
original
subject
or
for
a
remake,
as
the
director
is
known
as
the
'King'
of
remakes.
There
is
perhaps
no
one
in
Kollywood,
who
can
make
a
remake
work
better
than
Raja
because
he
understands
how
to
add
local
flavour
and
nativity
to
the
original
subject.
The
director
has
given
hits
such
as
M
Kumaran
S/O
Mahalakshmi,
Unakkum
Enakkum
and
Santosh
Subramaniam.
Interestingly,
for
Raja,
it
will
be
the
first
film
with
an
outsider
like
Vijay,
as
the
director
has
been
working
only
with
his
brother
Jayam
Ravi.
Vijay,
we
hear,
had
a
desire
to
work
with
him
as
he
believes
in
Raja's
style
of
film
making.
