Actor-producer K. Balaji passed away

Veteran Tamil actor and producer K. Balaji died on saturday. He was in his 70s and was not keeping in good health for the last few days.

Balaji was a versatile actor and has essayed roles of hero as well as villain. He has acted in hit films like Padithale Mattum Podhuma and Bale Pandya.

Under his company Sujatha Cine Combines, Balaji has produced blockbusters like Billa, Needhi, Vaazhkai, Savaal, Viduthalai and Sattham. He was also instrumental in giving superstar image to actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan through his blockbusters.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is his son-in-law.

Film and political personalities including Superstar Rajini, AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha and others paid their last respects to K.Balaji.

His body was cremated at Besant Nagar on Sunday evening.
