Kamal inaugurates Milan 2009

Kamal Hassan was the chief guest who inaugurated the second edition of 'Milan 2009', an inter-college cultural fest at SRM University in Chennai.

Kamal said, "A cultural festival like this provides the apt stage to bring out the artist in every student. Educated youth should enter the field of arts to bring in a change. It is time for youngsters and students to enter and shine in the field of arts. But it is also important that you earn your degree".

He further added, "I am considered as a student of cinema but in reality I am a high school dropout. Despite the lag, I have never stopped learning."

T.R. Pachamuthu, chancellor of SRM University, said that the university is going to start a film institute with the help of actor Kamal Hassan. “Kamal is willing to associate with the film institute and discussions are going on to make it in a non-traditional way."
