Kandhasamy to release late on August 21

This should really dash down the hopes of every buff of 'Chiyaan" Vikram, who are eagerly waiting for his release of Kandhaswamy. It nearly took couple of years to complete the shooting and recently Kalaipuli S Thanu confirmed about releasing it on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day.

With the film releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil over 1000 prints, small and medium budget flicks backed off from the race. Now, the producer himself comes up with a statement that he has planned to release the film on August 21. According to some sources, it is revealed that some patch-up works in post production are still pending.

Earlier there was news that the previous night will have a star-studded red carpet premiere where actor Vikram and producer Kalaipuli S Thanu have invited Bollywood celebs. Closer sources have revealed that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Bachchan seem to have accepted the invite as they"ve been filming together with Vikram for Raavan. It will be the first-ever red carpet premiere to be telecast live on a leading satellite channel.

Kalaipuli S Thanu of V Creations has shelled out more than Rs.60 Crores for this film. He is more confident about raising profit merely within first week. The film is getting released simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil with 900 prints and will get dubbed in Hindi version too.
