Karunanidhi bags Global Achiever Award

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will be conferred with Global Achiever Award for his film career at a grand function to be held in Chennai on October 9 to 11.

V C Guhanathan, President of Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), announced this at a press conference held at Nadigar Sangam on Monday.

Guhanathan said, "Karunanidhi has served the film industry for a long period as a writer and film producer. He has penned stories and dialogues for more than eighty films. His achievements in politics and services to the society are well known. Hence we want to confer 'Global Achiever Award" and honour him on this historical event".

Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan will inaugurate the function and deliver speeches at this event. For the first time, over 50 music composers from all over the country, including maestros Illayaraja, M S Vishwanathan, Oscar Winner A.R. Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Harris Jayaraj, Deva, Patnaik etc. will be coming together for a 'Musical Nite' as part of the event.

Sarath Kumar, the president of Nadigar Sangam, also attended the press meet.
