Prakash Raj wins the Shantaram Award

Its the year of Prakash Raj. He won the National Award for the Best Actor of the year 2008 for his movie Kanjeevaram. And now he again wins the Shantaram Award for his acting in the same flick.

Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie won great applause. Prakash played the role of a poor and sympathised Communist weaver, who wish to see his daughter in a silk bridal saree on her wedding. Prakash was successful in establishing the character into audiences' mind.

Priyadarshan also wins the Shantaram Award in the best director category. The movie Kanjeevaram wins the Best Film Award and for cinematography too. Actresses Tamanna Bhatia and Rani Mukherjee has also won the awards
