Leading cameraman cum filmmaker Santosh Sivan is going to make a film titled Ceylon based on the problems faced by the Sri Lankan refugees.

Santosh Sivan said, "I will start the film Ceylon by November after I complete my assignment as cameraman in Mani Ratnam"s Raavan. The film is basically on the plight of refugees from Sri Lanka who have been displaced from their land due to the domestic war. But it is not a bio-pic about the slain LTTE leader V. Prabhakaran."

"But at the same time Prabhakaran and his LTTE organization was a part of the refugee problem along with the Sri Lankan government and its policies. My film is clearly focused on the refugees' problems and the human rights violations only," he added.

Santosh Sivan is planning to cast newcomers who can speak fluently in Tamil with a Jaffna accent for this film.
