Rajini is a phenomenon - Shekhar Kapur

Shekhar Kapur, the top Indian film maker in the International arena considers Rajini a phenomenon in Indian cinema.

Shekhar Kapur came to the city recently to attend the Screenplay writing workshop organised by Kamal Hassan in association with IIT, Chennai. After the final day events, Shekhar Kapur met the media and said that Rajini is a phenomenon and that it would be interesting to see him as an animated character in Sultan - The Warrior.

Recalling his association with the superstar, he said, "There was a time when I used to watch a lot of commercial Tamil movies. Rajinikanth was a newcomer then and had an extraordinary sense of style.

I got in touch with him while he was experimenting with his career. We discussed a few scripts but then, both of us got busy and that film didn"t happen.

I heard that his daughter is making an animation film with him.

He"s a phenomenon and it would be interesting to see him as an animated character. As soon as Sultan — The Warrior is ready, I"m going to go catch it!"
