The
Tamil
Film
Producers
Council
has
decided
to
release
the
DVDs
within
100
days
of
the
film's
release.
It
has
declared
this
at
the
extraordinary
general
body
meeting
held
on
September
30
at
the
Film
Chamber
in
Chennai.
Here
are
the
fresh
initiatives
to
bailout
the
Tamil
Cinema
from
present
crisis:
The
DVD"s
and
CD"s
of
big
films
that
are
released
with
over
100
prints
will
be
allowed
to
have
their
Home
Video
release
after
100
days
of
its
theatrical
release.
Small
films,
which
are
released
with
less
than
100
prints,
will
be
allowed
to
have
their
Home
Video
release
50
days
after
its
theatrical
release.
Only
big
superstar
movies
can
release
during
festivals
in
future.
The
festivals
listed
are
–
Pongal,
April
14,
May
Day,
Independence
Day
(August
15),
Deepavali
and
Christmas.
Two
small
movies
can
release
every
Friday
along
with
one
dubbed
film.
TFPC
will
recommend
to
the
Tamil
Nadu
government
to
increase
the
subsidy
for
small
films
made
between
Rs.7
lakhs
and
Rs.10
lakhs.
The
council
will
not
co-operate
the
Television
Channels
which
do
not
purchase
the
film
at
regular
interval.
