The Madras High Court has clearly said that there is no ban or interim stay imposed on the release of Kamal Hassan's Unnaipol Oruvan, but the actor must deposit Rs.4 crores in the court as a security deposit.

On Monday, the Court ordered status quo on the release of the movie. While admitting a civil money recovery suit filed by Pyramid Saimira Production International Ltd., Justice K Rajsuria also directed Kamal Hassan and the producers of the film Raj Kamal Films International to file their counter.

After going through the counter petition submitted by Kamal's brother Chandrahassan, the judge ordered to release the film as per their plans, but that they must deposit Rs 4 crores in the court before 30th September as security deposit.

Kamal immediately accepted that. UPO has hit 10 big screens in Chennai city and more than 25 theaters outside the city.
