He is none other than the US Consul General Andrew T Simkin, who took time off his hectic schedule to watch a special screening of the Prasanna, Sneha and John Shae starrer Achamundu Achamundu. He was much impressed.
Saying that apart from creating an awareness on the problem of pedophilia, the film, he pointed out is “an impressive portrayal of the life of an immigrant to the United States".
"I"m happy that I had the opportunity to see this very powerful
film. I"m glad that there were subtitles. This is unique in that it
was in Tamil but filmed entirely in the US," he said.
Replying to a question on whether he would be willing to watch more Tamil films, he said, “Yes, indeed, I would like to watch more Tamil films. I"m so impressed with the quality of this production. It"s extremely well done..."
