people
protested

cinema
theatre
in
Coimbatore
on
Tuesday
(Nov
9),
claiming
that
the
movie
has
portrayed
the
Gounder
(Kongu
Vellalar)
community
in
bad
taste.
Kongu
Vellalar
activists
staged
a
protest,
shouting
slogans
against
the
movie,
alleging
that
the
movie
has
hurt
the
sentiments
of
the
community.
“Some
scenes
in
Uthama
Puthiran
are
objectionable
and
we
request
the
concerned
people
to
stop
the
screening
immediately,
" said
a
protester.
However,
the
film-makers
said
that
the
movie
does
not
have
any
objectionable
scenes
and
it
is
a
good
family
entertainer.
Meanwhile,
Uthama
Puthiran
has
received
good
reviews
from
critics
and
audience.
