Close on the
heels of the release of his maiden production venture Thamizh
Padam, producer and son of Union Minister M K Alagiri, Dayanidhi
Alagiri kick started his next movie titled Thoonga Nagaram
Quite appropriate to the title, Thoonga Nagaram is set in
Madurai and its adjoining areas. Directed by debutant Gaurav, a
former associate of K S Ravikumar, the movie features Pasanga
Vimal, Nadodigal fame Bharani and Renigunta Nishanth in key roles.
Thamizh MA Anjali plays the heroine. Besides wielding the
megaphone, Gaurav dons an important role in the film.
The movie was launched at a gala affair in Thamukkam Grounds in
Madurai on the occasion of Alagiri's birthday. Chief Minister M
Karunanidhi's wife Dhayalu Ammal lit the kuthuvilakku, Alagiri's
wife Gandhi Alagiri started the clap and MK Alagiri operated the
camera today. His daughters Kayalvizhi and Selvi were also present
on the occasion.
The movie has cinematography by Vijay Ulaganathan, a former
associate of K V Anand. Music is by Sundar C Babu, editing by
Suresh and art by Santhanam. The co-producer for the film is Vivek
Rathinavelu, production supervision by K Sundararaj and executive
production by Sushanth.
