How
often
we
see
an
actress
refusing
to
act
in
Mani
Ratnam's
film?
Well,
here
is
a
girl,
who
has
surprised
many
by
turning
down
the
maverick
filmmaker's
offer.
It
is
none
other
than
Bollywood
diva
Anushka
Sharma.
Anushka
Sharma
was
recently
approached
by
Mani
Ratnam
for
one
of
the
female
lead
roles
in
his
upcoming
Tamil
film
Ponniyin
Selvan.
But
the
actress
refused
to
act
in
the
film,
as
she
is
not
interested
to
play
the
second
leading
lady
in
the
film.
It
is
said
that
Mani
Ratnam
offered
her
to
pair
Mahesh
Babu
in
the
film.
Now
that
she
has
rejected
the
offer,
the
hunt
for
the
second
female
lead
is
on.
The
director
is
keen
to
cast
Priyanka
Chopra
in
the
much
publicized
Ponniyin
Selvan,
says
a
source.
Meanwhile,
Vijay,
Mahesh
Babu,
Anushka
Shetty
and
Sathyraj
have
been
signed
to
play
the
key
roles
in
the
historical
movie.The
expected
budget
of
the
movie
is
said
to
be
Rs.
200
crores,
which
is
produced
by
the
Sun
Pictures.
