Al Vijay, who was fully energetic with the success of Madrasapattinam, impressed Vikram with his different subject. Immediately, the duo started the pre-production works. Deiva Thirumagal started its shooting without much-hype but ended up getting enough publicity for its constant title change.
Firstly, it was titled Deiva Magan but it went for a change, as Sivaji Prabhu wanted to have it for his son"s debut movie. Later, the makers of the film considered a few names including Pitha. However, they christened the film as Deiva Thirumagan but again there were forced to rechristen after Thevar community objected it claiming that it is their leader"s name.
The makers of the film took more time to finalize the actresses for the female lead roles. It is said that they approached Vidya Balan but the Bollywood diva turned down the offer. They also considered Meera Jasmine and Divya Spandana but finally zeroed in on Anushka Shetty and Amala Paul. When it comes to technical team, the director has gone with his trusted team of Marasapattinam for music, which is scored by GV prakash and Nirav Shah to handle the cinematography department..
However, the story of the film dominates around Vikram, Amala Paul and Anushka shetty. The Anniyan star will be seen in the role of an adult, whose mental maturity will be of five-year-old kid. The Mynaa actress will join him in the hospital, whereas the Singam star pairs him in the film and plays the role of a lawyer.
The audio of the film has received good reviews from Tamil audience as well as Telugu audience. After postponing the release for a few times, the makers of the film decided to release the movie on July 1.
