Madhavan puts on weight for Vettai

Madhavan seems to be putting his best efforts to fit the role of a cop in his upcoming Tamil movie Vettai. The actor, who will be seen in the role of a lazy police officer in the initial part of the film, has put on some kilos to look like a laid back man.

The actor has confirmed that his role demanded him to develop a paunch for some of the scenes in the film. He is not playing a regular cop in the film. His character has been etched in an unusual way, confirms a report.

Reports add that Aarya, who plays the role of Madhavan in Vettai, will be doing the bulk of Maddy's work in the movie. As a result, the Yavarum Nalam star gained his weight.

Vettai features Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the female lead roles. The movie is produced and directed by N Lingusamy. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music and Nirav Shah is handling the camera.
