Rajinikanth undergoes minor surgery

By Ramchander

Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre last week for a recurrent respiratory infection and gastrointestinal problems, underwent a minor lung surgery yesterday. The actor has been moved to a private ward after the operation.

"The fluid in his chest was pressing against the lungs, causing respiratory problems. We had to aspirate this fluid," a doctor, who is treating Rajinikanth, told the Times of India.

Reports say that Rajinikanth is progressing well and the doctors have advised him to take complete bed rest. They have also restricted the visitors from meeting the actor.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Telugu Desam Party chief Chandra Babu Naidu, who were in Chennai to attend Jayalalitha's swearing-in, met the actor yesterday and wished him speedy recovery.
