admitted
to
Sri
Ramachandra
Medical
Centre
last
week
for
a
recurrent
respiratory
infection
and
gastrointestinal
problems,
underwent
a
minor
lung
surgery
yesterday.
The
actor
has
been
moved
to
a
private
ward
after
the
operation.
"The
fluid
in
his
chest
was
pressing
against
the
lungs,
causing
respiratory
problems.
We
had
to
aspirate
this
fluid," a
doctor,
who
is
treating
Rajinikanth,
told
the
Times
of
India.
Reports
say
that
Rajinikanth
is
progressing
well
and
the
doctors
have
advised
him
to
take
complete
bed
rest.
They
have
also
restricted
the
visitors
from
meeting
the
actor.
Meanwhile,
Gujarat
Chief
Minister
Narendra
Modi
and
Telugu
Desam
Party
chief
Chandra
Babu
Naidu,
who
were
in
Chennai
to
attend
Jayalalitha's
swearing-in,
met
the
actor
yesterday
and
wished
him
speedy
recovery.
