Silambarasan's
wish
to
rope
in
Salman
Khan
as
the
chief
guest
of
the
audio
launch
function
of
Osthi,
a
remake
of
Bollywood
movie
Dabangg,
has
received
a
blow.
The
Hindu
Makkal
Katchi
(HMK),
a
political
outfit
in
Tamil
Nadu,
has
urged
the
makers
of
the
forthcoming
film
to
drop
his
name
from
the
guest
list.
Reports
say
that
the
HMK
has
warned
the
makers
of
Osthi
that
they
should
not
invite
Salman
Khan.
Earlier,
the
political
organisation
and
several
other
Tamil
groups
had
requested
South
actors
and
Bollywood
stars
not
to
visit
Sri
Lanka
following
brutal
killings
of
innocent
Tamilians
by
the
Mahinda
Rajapaksa
led
government.
However,
Salman
along
with
Asin
Thottumkal
visited
the
island
nation
for
the
shooting
of
their
film
Ready.
HMK
secretary
Kannan
says
that
Bollywood
icons
like
Amitabh
Bachchan,
Shahrukh
Khan
and
others
boycotted
an
awards
function
after
Tamil
groups
urged
them
to
cancel
their
trip
on
the
humanitarian
grounds.
But
Salman
Khan
and
several
others
did
not
understand
the
reason
behind
their
appeal.
In
fact,
the
Dabangg
star
visited
twice.
He
further
adds
that
he
is
surprised
to
see
Silambarasan
inviting
Salman
Khan
for
the
function,
when
Simbu's
father
himself
has
been
condemning
Sri
Lankan
genocide.
However,
the
HMK
claims
that
they
were
not
aware
of
his
earlier
visit,
when
the
Bollywood
actor
graced
the
music
release
function
of
Markandeya
in
Chennai.
