Sonam Kapoor signs Mani Ratnam's film?

Grapevine is abuzz with the news that Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is all set to make her Tamil debut. Well, Mani Ratnam, who launched her father Anil Kapoor with Kannada film Pallavi Anupallavi, is introducing her to the Kollywood with his forthcoming movie.

Reports say that Mani Ratnam has offered her the role. Though Sonam Kapoor was hesitant to act, as she would be pairing up with newcomer Gautham, the son of veteran actor Karthik, the actress approved on Anil Kapoor's advice.

Mani Ratnam's forthcoming movie is tentatively titled as Pookadai and it features Arjun Sarja in a key role. While Oscar Award winner AR Rahman scores the music, Rajeev Menon will be handling the camera. Other details about the project are under wraps.
