Ajith Kumar's Mangaatha has been acquired by Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green. The production-distribution company will now release the Tamil movie on August 31 all across India.
The change in hands does not come as a surprise, as production companies, which are owned by former CM M Karunanidhi's family members have stopped releasing films after the DMK lost power in the general elections. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green has sealed the deal, which includes satellite rights, for a good price, say reports.
In fact, Mangaatha will be Gnanavel Raja's first movie, which does not star any of his family member in the film. In all his earlier movies, either Surya or Karthi featured in the lead roles.
However, Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja starrer Mangaatha will be censored today. The movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri.
