Vaanam unit's kind gesture towards Slumdog kid

Vaanam team, which is in Mumbai for the film's shooting, has helped Rubina Ali Qureshi, a child artist who acted in Oscar Award winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Last Friday, a fire broke out in Garib Nagar destroyed over 2,000 shanties, including Rubina's house and valuables.

Dhayanidhi Alagiri and Silambarasan, who heard the news about the disaster, came forward to lend their helping hands to Rubina Ali Qureshi. They raised the money from Vaanam team and donated close to two lakhs to support her family, says a source. Meanwhile, Rubina Ali Qureshi has been given a flat in Santa Cruz by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.

However, the shooting of Vaanam is in brisk progress at Mumbai Filmcity. Soon, a song on Silambarasan will be shot at this place. The movie features Anushka Shetty, Bharath, Prakash Raj, Sonia Agarwal in the key roles. Krish is directing the movie, which is being produced by RB Chowdary of Supergood Movies.
