Dhanush
and
Hari
have
joined
their
hands
for
the
first
time
in
upcoming
film
Venghai.
With
National
Award
to
his
credit,
the
Aadakulam
star
will
be
seen
in
an
action-packed
movie
directed
by
Hari,
who
is
known
as
a
specialist
in
mass
masala
movies.
The
filmmaker
and
the
actor
are
coming
back
after
the
success
of
their
respective
films
like
Aadakulam
and
Singam.
The
story
of
Venghai
is
about
a
common
man
Selvam
(Dhanush),
who
takes
up
arms
due
to
unavoidable
situations.
Though
he
loves
to
stay
away
from
trouble,
the
circumstances
make
him
to
revolt
against
the
evil
forces
of
the
system.
On
the
other
side
of
the
story,
it
shows
the
bonding
of
father-son
relationship
between
Veera
Pandi
(Rajkiran)
and
Selvam.
While
Tamanna
Bhatia
plays
the
role
of
leading
lady
in
the
film,
Prakash
Raj
once
again
dons
the
character
of
a
baddie.
The
photography
started
in
November
2010
without
much
hype.
The
major
portion
of
Venghai
has
been
shot
at
Sivagangai
district
and
rest
of
the
parts
have
been
filmed
at
Karaikudi,
Courtallam,
Munar,
Tirchy
and
adjoining
cities.
The
audio
of
Venghai
has
received
mixed
responses
from
the
audience.
The
film
has
five
songs
of
which
critics
have
appreciated
only
one
song,
'Pudikale
Pudikudhu...'
which
is
crooned
by
Mukesh
and
Suchitra.
Devi
Sri
Prasad
has
scored
the
music
and
Viveka
has
penned
the
lyrics.
Recently,
Venghai
was
in
controversy
after
a
producer
brought
a
stay
order
for
the
movie
release
due
to
title
dispute.
Later,
the
makers
of
the
film
resolved
the
issue
thus
paving
way
for
its
release
without
any
hurdle.
