Ajith
Kumar
made
his
Bollywood
debut
in
Shahrukh
Khan
starrer
Asoka
in
2001.
Though
offers
kept
coming
from
Bollywood
in
later
days,
the
Thala
choose
to
keep
himself
busy
in
Tamil
films.
Now,
after
11
years,
the
actor
is
back
to
act
in
a
Hindi
film
in
Sridevi's
come-back
film
English
Vinglish,
which
is
a
multilingual
movie.
The
Tamil
superstar
was
signed
in
a
hush-hush
manner,
as
the
makers
of
English
Vinglish
had
not
planned
on
roping
in
Ajith
Kumar
initially.
In
fact,
producer
Balki
had
signed
Amitabh
Bachchan
to
do
a
cameo
in
the
forthcoming
movie
and
shot
the
portions
for
both
the
versions.
However,
after
filming
it,
the
movie
bosses
realised
that
a
Kollywood
superstar
would
be
better
than
the
Bollywood
megastar
for
the
Tamil
version
of
the
film.
Hence,
they
approached
Ajith
Kumar
for
which
he
gave
nod
without
a
second
thought.
Balki
has
admitted
that
the
Thala
is
replacing
Amitabh
Bachchan
in
the
Kollywood
version.
He
further
added.
"Ajith
is
a
mega-star.
I
am
honoured
to
have
him
play
Amitji's
role
in
the
Tamil
version." The
Billa
star
has
a
powerful
role,
which
lasts
for
three
minutes.
