Deepika Padukone seems to have finally managed to sign forthcoming Tamil film Kochadaiyaan. The actress has reportedly given her nod to play the female lead role, which was also offered to several Bollywood actresses including Katrina Kaif.

"Deepika Padukone has been confirmed as heroine in Kochadaiyaan," film unit sources said. It may be recalled that the actress, who was roped in for Rajinikanth's Rana, found it difficult to allot the dates after the movie got delayed following the superstar's illness.

Later, Soundarya Rajinikanth announced that Rana was postponed till August and Rajinikanth would be working in Kochadaiyaan before starting the former. She started the casting process from the scratch and approached several top Bollywood actresses, as Deepika Padukone had date issues.

However, Kochadaiyaan also features Sneha, Sarath Kumar, Shobana, Aadhi, Jackie Shroff in the cast. It has AR Rahman's music and Rajiv Menon's cinematography.
